Best Internet For Less!
I'm writing this to help the people I provide ISP services to, as well as anyone else out there who might be interesting in protecting themselves from Spam mail, which, undoubtedly is everyone with an email address. The only way to truly win against spam mail is to prevent it. The best-known method of prevention is in keeping your email address confidential. It's safe to let your friends have your email address, as long as they also know how to keep their address secure. It's a mutual thing. In essence what occurs is you have to protect the email addresses of those you email to, and receive emails from. The only thing you can do to make your email address secure is by making sure all your contacts will keep it secure for you. I'm asking everyone who reads this to please send all your contacts a link to this page so that they to can fight the "War on Spam Mail."
The following is a guide to protecting yours and other peoples email address, follow this guide and your email address and those of your friends will be 99% secure.
When sending an email to more then one person, always put the recipients in the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) section, never use the TO. This prevents the email from racking up lines of email addresses as it gets forwarded on to more people, which is exactly how spammers get a hold of your email address. Next, when forwarding an email make sure to delete ALL addresses currently on the email (if any) and use the BCC to forward it on. Make sure that everyone who sends you mail uses the BCC if it's sent to more then one person otherwise you will not be protected. Also if they know, hopefully they will tell everyone they send to, so you will be double protected in case of a slip up.
Also, whenever you on the internet be careful of where you enter your email address, maybe create a 2nd email account that is for signing up for stuff and that way you can get junk to that address and not care.
